So its been four days since any of the Disney blogs I follow have posted. And since we mostly all follow each other why don't I make everybody's day special and thrilling and talk for however long I can. (Toooooooooo long)
Well, we have our new contact for our Police background check which as far as I can tell is now the only thing that won't be handled directly by Disney. Apparently the place is called 'yummyjobs'. I'm pretty sure we sort of thought that was hoax, but hey, at least its memorable. I still haven't received mine back from the Ministry of Justice. Maybe they've discovered that I'm really a secret agent from Andalasia and they're about to break down my door as I type. I AM KIDDING. DISNEY, I'M KIDDING. (Also, Andalasia. You guys made that movie. Its a joke!)
Not gonna lie. This looks awesome. |
Also, it took long enough but I FINALLY got my Disney Welcome email. Only to be met with what is probably the creepiest picture I have ever seen of the man himself: Walt Disney. Love the quote, but really, that picture is... yeah. Maybe it's just me.
At the moment, waiting for Kim to give me her bank account details so I can transfer money to her in Australia (so expensive!) and she can book us into the LBV Holiday Inn. I'd have done it myself already if she and Hayden weren't checking in a day earlier so they need to have the ID to back up the booking. Aside from that, things won't really need to get rolling again until October when I'll be sorting out Travel Insurance and my visa when our Welcome Packs of Magical Goodness arrive!
I really have to apologise to all the people in the facebook group. I am a little (read: a lot) excitable. And when I get excited about something, like Disney, I want to know EVERYTHING about it. It's basically like watching the pilot episode of a TV series and then going and reading the Wikipedia article to find out what is happening so you're prepared for it. So, I've read and watched a LOT about Disney, the program and Visas etc etc. Unfortunately then I get a bit... Hermione-ish. If I know something I will answer. In the most direct way possible. So, I sound like a know it all. SORRY I DON'T MEAN TO BE. But I can't just NOT leave something unanswered. Also, I have difficulties accepting I'm wrong.
Look, at least I'm aware of these things.
My point is, I know a lot (or at least I think I do). So I have made a page at the top of this blog called 'Ask Kiwi' where you can ask anything you like. About the program, what I've spent money on, Visa requirements etc etc. And this can be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay into the future, like after I've finished the program. I might still get the emails if you ask. You are also free to ask why I am such a pain in the butt but like everything else I don't guarantee an answer. But I like being a know-it-all and answering questions so, you know, I probably will answer.
Apparently the Melbourne people has an awesome meet up last night. I am so epically jealous. Curse you other Aucklanders.
EDIT: Apparently it was in fact the Gold Coast. Aucklanders still get cursed though.
